Hair Saloon® For Men Opens in Edwardsville - December 17, 2008
New store will be 12th St. Louis-area location and second on Illinois side
St. Louis, MO, November 8, 2007: Hair Saloon For Men has opened its doors in the growing community of Edwardsville, IL. It becomes the 12th St. Louis-area location for the company.
Tom and Lisa Ruesch opened their franchise store on November 8 in the new Edwardsville Crossing Shopping Center at Highway 159. The 2,000 square-foot shop features Hair Saloon For Men's unique concept, a reinvention of the neighborhood barberhop that maintains a commitment to customer service in a wholesome atmostphere.
The Ruesch's were introduced to Hair Saloon For Men three years ago when Tom became a customer. A sales reprentative for St. Louis-area radio stations, Ruesch enjoyed the concept so much that he approached Tom Twellman, Hair Saloon's founder and CEO, about becoming a franchisee.
"Hair Saloon provides a place where men can feel comfortable," Ruesch said. "It's designed to allow fathers and sons to share the experience just as in days past."
Like its other locations, the Edwardsville saloon features the company's signature five-star service - a complimentary beverage; perfect haircut and relaxing shampoo from the comfort of authentic barber chairs; hot towel service; and complimentary shoeshine. The store also features a putting area, custom checker tables and plasma TVs to catch the latest news or sports.
The Ruesches live in nearby Glen Carbon so they saw an opportunity to introduce Hair Saloon For Men to the Edwardsville community. The other Illinois Hair Saloon For Men location is in Fairview Heights.
The Edwardsville location is a homcoming of sorts for Twellman as well. He was an All-American baseball and soccer player at SIU-Edwardsville and was recently inducted into the SIU-Edwardsville Sports Hall of Fame.
"I'm confident that men in the Edwardsville area will welcome the Hair Saloon," Twellman noted. "Hair Saloon For Men is filling a void in American life that has as much to do with the 'restoration of men' as it does with the 'business of haircutting.' We call it Honorable Rebellion Among Men®."
