Hair Saloon For Men Delivers Donations to Fisher House

Hair Saloon News

“I want to say thank you to our customers and employees that generously stepped up to show their collective gratitude to our wounded veterans who have made tremendous sacrifices for our country,” said Tom Twellman, President and CEO of Hair Saloon® Holdings, Inc., the holding company for Hair Saloon® For Men. “We hope our efforts raise public awareness of the ongoing need for supplies at St. Louis Fisher House.”
Fisher House also announced an expanded admissions policy for eligible families. Fisher House will now accept families living more than 50 miles away for shorter one or two-night stays while their loved ones receive treatment at the St. Louis VA Medical Center. Previously the minimum stay requirement was three nights. All stays are provided free of charge.
The change will assist military members, veterans and their families who must travel to St. Louis to receive outpatient services and then return home all in the same day. The expanded service is possible due to the ongoing support of Fisher House by the community.
“Donations such as what we are receiving today are now even more important as we begin to serve even more families,” Poston said.
St. Louis Fisher House serves as a ‘home away from home’ for the families and caregivers of many American military veterans hospitalized for extended stays at the St. Louis VA Medial Center. These families cannot afford to stay in hotels. Since opening in July 2010, the St. Louis Fisher House has served several hundred families of Veterans and active duty military personnel.
The home has 20 bedroom suites, plus kitchen and laundry facilities, to serve families who live at least 50 miles from St. Louis. Veterans admitted to St. Louis VA facilities come from throughout Missouri, southern Illinois, Kansas and Indiana.
Hair Saloon is a longtime supporter of veteran’s needs and provides an everyday discount of 25 percent to active duty and retired military personnel, law enforcement and fire fighters.
