This week, all 16 St. Louis metro area Hair Saloon locations will donate 10% of their proceeds to The Backstoppers in support of the family of St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer David Lee. Officer Lee lost his life in the line of duty Sunday, September 22. The event is being dubbed “Haircuts for Heroes” and will run from Monday, September 30 through Saturday, October 5.
Officer Lee was an 18-year police veteran and left behind a wife and two children. The Backstoppers is a non-profit that provides ongoing financial assistance and support to the families of police officers, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and publicly funded paramedics and EMTs in the St. Louis are who lost their lives in the line of duty.

This is our opportunity as a company and community to step up and be of service to the family of Officer Lee, who dedicated his professional life to exactly what those values stand for. Families of local heroes sacrifice so much by putting their loved ones on the line every day, and so we serve the family of Officer David Lee in gratitude for their service and sacrifice, too.”
In addition to the money raised through haircuts and product sales, Hair Saloon encourages community members and visitors to make donations at their local Hair Saloon in support of the cause.
The event is in alignment with Hair Saloon’s longstanding tradition of support for The Backstoppers through the years. The company held fundraisers for the families of Officer Blake Snyder in 2016 and Tamarris Bohannon in 2020. Their Saloons also have served as the sole in-person ticket outlet for the organization’s annual Guns & Hoses fundraiser.
